At work me and some others won a trip to Pilsen to go to the Pilsner Brewery. It was all expenses paid so of course I enjoyed every moment of it, only spending €20 on a round of shots.
We spent one day in Pilsen before moving on to Prague. I’d heard of how beautiful it is architecturally and it didn’t disappoint. Unfortunately we were only there for the night and the rest of our last day but we went on a short tour and got shown around the main parts of the city.

What To Do
Prague has beautiful architecture, I’ve heard this from many friends who have been in the past. Amazing architecture and amazing bars. Due to only being there for only an overnight stay, we didn’t get the chance to experience the city to its fullest. We did however get a tour around Prague and did get to see it on a beautiful sunny day.
We walked between the red tiled roof tops and across the Charles Bridge which was wide and gave a good view of the Vltava river running through the city. Everything seemed to have a theme to it, then we got to the Cathedral. This was gothic and ornate, it had spikes along the top and gave quite a scary atmosphere when everything around it was so calm and green. It was beautiful.
We went to many bars in the evening, we started at a cocktail bar, Black Angels which was dark, underground, slightly prestigious – everything you want a cocktail bar to be. There was someone playing piano, the smell of cigars and no photos were to be taken, it was a nice way to start an evening, or end a quiet one.

What To Eat
We went out for dinner at a Michelin star restaurant called Čestr, now currently being refurbished so is closed for the time being. If you don’t eat meat, then this restaurant isn’t for you as there is meat hanging on show and there are also lines where the meat gets carried on into the butchering area.
The steak though, is the best I have ever had and I’ve been to Flat Iron, Hawksmoor and even my mother does a perfect steak. It has the usual sides such as creamed spinach, mash and chips triple cooked in beer.
I’d like to go back again, as only going for one day, I can’t say much about the place. But it did have a tranquil atmosphere at a glance.
