The train from Munich to Vienna is short and in terms of atmosphere, it’s quite similar. We arrived early in the morning once again and had planned to meet up with a guy who whose flat we were couch surfing on. This was mainly to save money but also so we could experience Vienna fully as we chose to come here last minute.
He was… Strange in some ways and enjoyed talking about sex and girls but if it weren’t for him, we wouldn’t have found the nudist lake and had the most relaxing day of our whole trip by the lake – we also wouldn’t have had a proper shower and get to wash our clothes for a while longer.

Things to do.
- Stadtpark is a nice little park to walk around in and here can be seen a beautiful golden statue of composer Mozart. It’s worth taking a look and visually seeing how stunning this piece of architecture is, subtle and sweet like his music.
- Naschmarkt, located next to the Wien river is a market that not only opens on a weekend, but is open every day. Here you can purchase real Vienna coffee and nicknacks, it’s the best way to get real souvenirs. Plus there’s loads of good food stalls to try.
- Schönbrunn Palace – this is a huge palace located just on the outskirts of Vienna. The gardens are worth a visit and are also where the zoo is located. We walked up the most amazing hill at where a cafe is located and the Sunset can be enjoyed undisturbed.
- Vienna State Opera is a building which plays host to the most amazing concerts. Even if you can’t afford to view a show here, visiting the building is just an experience within itself.

Things to eat.
- Cafe Central, when you walk in is the most extravagant cafe to an English person but in Vienna, these decorative cream cakes served with proper Viennese coffee in an elegant building is seen quite a lot. Set right in the heart of Vienne with horse and carriages as a standard in the background, it provides all the good qualities you expect to see in Vienna. Beautiful buildings, coffee and a classy atmosphere.
- Figlmüeller is the home of Wiener Schnitzel. Opened in 1905, the year the Schnitzel was created, this restaurant has been busy for over 100 years.
